This is simply the best Indian restaurant I have ever eaten at. The owners cater to American preferences only in that the food is less heavily fried than one might find elsewhere. The chef's originality, and the taste combinations are extraordinary - he is not following an accepted route, he is creating one, with generally spectacular results. The decor is not up to the food, and the service, although good, can't compare, either. But one goes to a place like this to eat, not to look at first edition prints or be cossetted by waiters and waitresses.
